Anxiety And Low Self-Worth doesn’t have to get in the way of you living your life.

THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF ANXIETY GETS US UP AND MOVING, BUT TOO MUCH MAKES US FEEL LIKE WE’RE DROWNING.

Are you feeling anxious, hopeless, isolated, and not your usual self? Perhaps you have recently thought privately one of the following:

  • “I am worthless and can’t do anything right.”

  • “I feel guilty for just wanting to eat, sleep, and be alone.”

  • “I constantly worry about what could go wrong, going through every possible what-if scenario.

  • “I hate who I am these days.”

  • “I can’t stop tearing up, which just makes me want to stay away from others.”

  • “I feel gut-wrenching pain, but nobody would understand that.”

  • “My life and the world are dark. I hate that, but I can’t change.”

As women, we can sometimes feel frustrated, discouraged, or uncertain. But sometimes, this feeling can go on too long and affect where we want to be in our lives. This leaves us feeling even more anxious, insecure, sad, and hopeless than before.

Self-worth should be less about measuring yourself based on external actions and more about valuing your inherent worth as a person. I believe self-worth starts from within and needs to be planted, nourished, and gently cared for with kindness and self-compassion in response to suffering.

The critical inner voice is like a nasty coach in our heads who constantly nags us with destructive thoughts about ourselves, which triggers anxiety. This internalized dialogue of critical thoughts or “inner voices” undermines our sense of self-worth and even leads to self-destructive or maladaptive behaviors, making us feel even worse about ourselves.
